Covid-19 guidance for heating technicians
Last updated - 21/10/2021
Although restrictions have been relaxed, the government continues to publish advice on reducing the spread of respiratory infections, including Covid-19, in the workplace. The advice includes working in other people’s homes. Because infections like Covid-19 are more likely to be transmitted in confined spaces, we recommend that heating technicians remain cautious to protect themselves and others and help avoid the risk of increasing transmission rates during the colder winter months.

Working for vulnerable households
If work needs to be carried out in a household where an occupant is clinically vulnerable, additional precautions should be taken to avoid face-to-face contact. Tradespeople should be strict about handwashing, coughing and sneezing hygiene, such as covering the nose and mouth and disposing of single use tissues.
OFTEC will continue to monitor the situation and will update this page if required.
