  • OFTEC responds to home heating consultation with two-step plan to cut carbon emissions

    OFTEC has put forward a compelling case to introduce a two-stage approach to reducing carbon emissions from oil using households in its response to the government’s ‘Heat in Buildings: The Future of Heat in Domestic Buildings’ consultation. The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) invited comment on new proposals for improving efficiency and reducing energy demand, alongside evidence on the costs and benefits of wider domestic central heating system performance improvements.

  • New figures confirm shocking increase in County’s winter deaths

    New government statistics* have revealed that the total number of excess winter deaths across the UK as a whole during 2014/15 was 43,850, the highest level seen in over 15 years.   • Oil is first choice in DSD Boiler Replacement Scheme

    The Boiler Replacement Scheme was launched in Northern Ireland in 2012 to give homeowners the opportunity to replace their current boiler with the assistance of a grant of up to £1,000. Since its introduction to the 30th September 2016 the scheme has funded 27,298 new installations and 17,924 of these have been new oil condensing boilers.
