Standards and OFCERT | OFTEC Liquid Fuel Trade Association

OFTEC standards and OFCERT

What is an OFCERT®

An important aspect of OFTEC's work is the testing, approval and certification of liquid fuel-firing equipment. A scheme for this is operated under the name of OFCERT®.

OFCERT® is integral to OFTEC’s mission to promote excellence in liquid fuel-fired heating and cooking. Specifiers and users of OFCERT® licensed equipment can be sure that it exceeds the latest standards of manufacturing and legislation.

Equally, because OFCERT® is the dedicated testing and certification scheme for liquid fuel firing equipment, it gives added prestige to the high standards of manufacture within the industry.

What is an OFTEC standard?

OFTEC has developed a number of industry standards to cover a range of liquid fuel-firing manufactured equipment and are also currently developing a new suite of bio-liquid fuel standards.

The liquid fuel standards are referred to in building regulations and form the basis of BSI/CEN (British Standards Institution and the European Committee for Standardisation) standards. OFTEC will develop standards on request for a group of members.

Where can you get a copy of the standards?

Electronic versions of the standards can be obtained on request from the OFTEC Technical Department
