When can I expect an inspection and what do I need to do?
Training Competent Persons An OFTEC Inspector will contact you to arrange a suitable time to accompany you whilst you work. The Inspector will have a badge that is similar to the Technicians badge but clearly shows the words INSPECTOR on the front of the Badge. This will take place at least once during your registration period. (However please note a percentage will receive more than one inspection.)
The Inspector will observe that you work to the BS 5410 and the relevant Building Regulations
The Inspector will use TI/133D/CD10/CD11/CD30 whichever documentation is applicable to the inspection being carried out.
The Inspector may issue a 28 day notice for rectification of non-compliant work (please do not ignore this as this could lead to suspension or withdrawal of registration)
The Inspectors are experienced and will have undertaken assessments for OFTEC qualifications as you have done, plus more in depth training and are no longer on the tools so you are not being inspected by someone you are in competition with. The Inspector may also offer you help and guidance on any areas where you feel you would like to acquire more in-depth technical knowledge.
Please co-operate with the request for inspection as failure to comply could result in suspension or withdrawal of registration
