Training

Getting properly trained to work on oil-fired equipment is important because for environmental, safety and economic reasons, oil engineers must make sure that fuel is delivered and used without waste. You should also make sure that you remain safe as you are working on oil boiler repairs or oil tank installations, and as technology and legislation changes, you may need to update your training to keep your skills current.

OFTEC helps you to achieve the highest levels of competence within the industry, with initial and ongoing training, continuous assessment of your skills and regular information about new technology.

  • OFTEC courses raise the status of technicians. Well-trained technicians are vital to ensuring that oil heating systems are installed and operate safely. Find out more about OFTECs approved courses.
  • OFTEC training is available at over 90 approved centres throughout the UK and Ireland, including some that are mobile.

To review your current skills, discuss what courses are available and arrange training, please contact one of our approved centres for more information and to book your place.
