FPS/OFTEC website launch

A new website called Oilsave has been launched to help consumes save energy and money in the home and office.

The website is launched by Federation of Petroleum Suppliers (FPS) in partnership with the Oil Firing Technical Association (OFTEC) to ensure consumers are able to easily access simple, practical advice, and are aware of the grants available to them.

The website’s main focus is advice on getting the best out of your oil heating, information about grants for various energy saving measures, general tips on how to save energy in the home and practical advice on insulation.

Jeremy Hawksley, Director General of OFTEC, comments: “This website is good news for consumers who can get confused with all the various conflicting advice out there. The oilsave website has simple realistic advice for everyone”.

Tips for energy saving include:

  • Taking a shower instead of a bath;
  • Making sure your boiler is serviced regularly to keep it working at maximum efficiency;
  • Getting your old boiler replaced with a more efficient condensing boiler.

The site can be found at www.oilsave.org.uk.
